Friendly Version
Polyethylene is a partially crystalline, lightweight thermoplastic,
polymerized from ethylene gas at controlled temperatures and pressures.
It is tough, heat stable, flexible and has a wax-like feel. Polyethylene
is used in many applications because of its moisture barrier properties,
superior optics, salability, toughness and outstanding electrical
properties.
