Vydyne® 909 is a 25% glass fiber reinforced
injection molding grade nylon 6/6 resin containing halogenated and
other flame retardant* additives. It provides users with a high
rigidity, high tensile strength product that meets Underwriter Laboratories
(U.L.) 94V-O flammability classification down to thicknesses of
0.031" and 94-5VA down to thicknesses of 0.062".
The combination of toughness which allows for high quality, crack-resistant
molded parts and melting resistance to soldering operations make it
an ideal candidate to replace glass/FR polyesters and thermosets (such
as phenolics or ureas) in many applications.
Typical Applications/End
Uses
The flammability,
rigidity, and strength characteristics make Vydyne® 909 ideal
for appliance, electrical/electronic, and industrial applications.
Typical uses include fire sprinkler system components, television
tuner parts and casings, electrical connectors, terminal strips/blocks,
circuit board standoffs, circuit breakers, switch components, relays,
coil forms, business machine/computer components and electrical
spacers, rings, receptacles and housings.
* The expression
"with flame retardant additives" and the UL ratings for flammability
are not intended to reflect performance of this or any other material
under actual fire conditions. Each end user should determine whether
potential fire hazards are associated with the finished product
and whether the Vydyne® resin is suitable for their particular
application. |
